2011 Reunion Will Have a Unique Feature and a Volunteer Opportunity

You can join in the battle against osteosarcoma in greyhounds. Volunteers are needed Saturday night at the MSGAO annual reunion when we will be assisting the Van Andel Institute by collecting DNA samples for the Canine Hereditary Cancer Consortium. The consortium is using DNA to find ways to fight osteosacoma, common in greyhounds and also affecting people.

If you can lend a hand, please contact Chris Platt either through the Friends of Mid-South Greyhound Adoption Option Facebook page or via email at [email protected].

Please let her know if you can assist in the DNA swab collection process. It is fast, easy and a great way to make a difference!

Using dog saliva and tissue samples donated by pet owners and veterinarians, the Canine Hereditary Cancer Consortium is studying osteosarcoma to find ways to fight the disease in pets and people.
